Ever since the launch of the 1st generation Razor model A kick scooter around the year 2000, Razor has become synonymous with scooters. More than sixteen years later, the company has expanded to manufacturing other world class entertainment and adventure sports products including top class snowboards, skateboards, surfboards, and BMX bikes.

Following their success with kick scooters, Razor delved into the world of e-scooters and has excelled here as well. The Razor E300 electric scooter is one among a range of highly successful e-scooters that Razor offers for ages eight to adult. Take a closer look at why we choose the Razor E300 as our best Razor electric scooter for 2019.

Why #1 Best Razor Electric Scooter ??
The Razor E300 has all the makings of a classic and simple motorized scooter for both kids and adults. Assembly is simple enough to be performed by anyone, even your kids and getting going is as simple as pushing the ignition and twisting the throttle. The scooter is durable, ergonomic and comfortable to ride.

The broad 10-inch pneumatic tires provide good stability and make riding on rough surfaces as well as over potholes smooth and easy. The deck is a considerable way above the ground which makes going over bumps or dismounting from a sidewalk an enjoyable experience.

We took the E300 downhill to test its handling at max speeds and were more than thrilled with its impressive performance. If you’re looking for an e-scooter that is fun and easy to use at comes at an extremely fair price, the Razor E300 is an ideal candidate.

Top Benefits of Razor E300 Electric Scooter

1. Build:-
The Razor E300 electric scooter sports a pretty basic build that requires some assembly. The main deck and the steering column come detached, but it’s enough to connect them with a simple hex wrench.

The handlebar is pretty ergonomic, and the great thing is that it folds easily which makes for convenient storage. Cable wires for the brake and accelerator hang freely from the handlebars and connect to the motor underneath the deck which can be a problem when they become loose over time.

The frame is built using solid tubular steel which gives the scooter a durable and dependable feel. The deck is broad enough to incorporate both children and adults and contains a non-slip material which provides extra friction during the ride.

The E300 does not have any real suspension, but the two 10-inch pneumatic tires provide good support and shock absorption even over small bumps and slightly rugged terrain. As for maximum rider weight, the E300 can comfortably support up to 220 lbs in weight which is perfect for most adult riders.

2. Performance & Battery Life:-
The Razor E300 is powered by a 250-watt motor that is mounted near the rear tire and concealed by a stylish steel cover. Owing to its chain drive system that propels the rear wheel, the scooter can get a little noisy.

Starting the scooter is easy enough and only requires a push of the starting switch (located at near the charging port at the side of the deck) followed by a twist of the accelerator. There is a hand operated lever on the left handle stick that triggers the rear break and brings the scooter to a comfortable stop.

Although powered by a potentially robust 250-watt motor the E300 e-scooter runs on two 12 volt lead acid batteries which inhibit the overall performance of the scooter. The batteries can take up to 12 hours to charge and provide roughly 40-45 minutes of run time – not an ideal setup.

The actual riding experience itself is pretty smooth and rewarding, especially when you consider the scooter’s generous ground clearance and solid 10-inch tires. Regardless of no suspension, riding over small potholes holes is a breeze, and the scooter can achieve significant speeds up to 15 mph on flat roads and surfaces. However, due to the lack of any readout mechanism or display, you never know exactly how fast you’re traveling or how much battery life you have

However, due to the lack of any readout mechanism or display, you never know exactly how fast you’re traveling or how much battery life you have remaining so you kind of has to play things by ear in that regard. Also, the accelerator isn’t the most responsive, so shifting between higher and lower speeds can be a little bumpy at times. On the whole, though, riding the E300 on most flat surfaces and especially downhill is a blast that is well worth it. Besides no readout and a lack of suspension, the E300 does not have LED lights, so riding at night is not ideal however you can attach lights pretty easily if you enjoy the night ride. Finally, there is a kickstand which makes parking convenient, but there’s no locking option so don’t leave your scooter lying around unattended.

Pros

  • Strong and durable frame construction
  • Wide 10-inch pneumatic tires that provide good support and suspension
  • Comfortable and ergonomic design with a wide deck for child and adult riders
  • Foldable handle bars make for easy storage
  • High max speed of 15 mph
  • Above average run time of 45 minutes
  • Is available at a reasonably fair price point

Cons

  • Lead acid batteries take considerably long to charge (up to 12 hours)
  • No display for speed or battery life
  • No suspension
  • Chain drive mechanism can be noisy
  • The accelerator is poorly responsive and difficult to regulate
Verdict For its price, the Razor E300 electric scooter is a steel that is guaranteed to deliver tons of fun for you and your kid. It is perfect for riding around the neighborhood and enjoying some exhilarating downhill rides. However, due to its lack of battery read out or locking option, and its considerably long charge time, it may not be the ideal scooter for transportation.

  • Run Time/ Range per charge: 15 miles
  • Max Speed: 15 mph
  • Brakes: Hand operated rear electric brake
  • Suspension: No Suspension

Glion Dolly Electric Scooter
Glion is an innovative Startup that has made an indelible mark on the transportation sector with its original e-scooter design. Their scooters serve as practical transport solutions for the everyday commuter and are both fun as well as supremely environment-friendly with zero emissions.

The Glion Dolly electric scooter has a patented vertical self-standing design that makes storage on public transport exceptionally convenient. But that’s not all that makes this motorized scooter special, read on to learn why the Glion Dolly scooter made its way into our best folding motorized scooter category for 2019.

Why #1 Best Folding Electric Scooter 2019 ??
As far as portability and folding design are concerned, few electric scooters on the market can compete with the Glion Dolly. It takes under 2 seconds to fold using its one of a kind foot activated folding mechanism and its patented vertical self-standing design make it remarkably simple to store and handle on public transport.

It is light weight, quick to charge (3.5 hrs to full charge) and exceptionally easy to transport with the aid of its extendable handle that riders can use to roll it around. It has a powerful motor that is capable of delivering 600W which enables it to achieve a high speed of 15 mph and a wide range of up to 15 miles on a single charge.

Although there is no built-in suspension, the 8-inch honeycomb tires work extremely well to support the rider even on rough surfaces that include multiple cracks and bumps. Overall, it’s no surprise why few can compete with the Glion Dolly scooter as the top last mile solution to and from work.

Top Benefits of Glion Dolly Foldable Lightweight Adult Electric Scooter

1. Build & Portability :-
The Glion Dolly has one of the most ergonomic and practical designs compared to any e-scooter on the market today. Even just looking at it, you can tell that a lot of thought went into its design to ensure that its portability was supremely enhanced giving the rider every advantage during his commutes.

As we mentioned above, the Dolly has a patented vertical self-standing design which makes it easy to store behind a door or even hold in front of you while you sit on the train.

Also, this scooter is extremely easy and quick to fold – we timed it and it takes barely 5 seconds to fold with the help of the foot activated lever at the bottom of the handlebar.

Once folded, you also have the option of rolling the scooter like a rolling suitcase; courtesy of the extendable handle bar up top and the rear luggage wheels on either side of the back tire.

The frame is built using aircraft grade aluminum and can comfortable support up to 255lbs. However, the foldable handlebars seem a little flimsy at times especially when riding over cracks or tiny holes in the ground. The deck is longer than most and not too wide, and the fender over the rear wheel provides a good resting position for your back foot.

The overall weight of the scooter is 28 lbs which is light enough so you can carry the scooter in your hand for short distances without it burning with pain.

2. Performance & Battery Life:-
One of the greatest features of the Glion Dolly e- scooter apart from its ultra portability is its 36v Sony Lithium Ion battery which is quick to charge taking only 3.5 hours to achieve a full charge and 2 hours to achieve a 75% charge.

The Dolly delivers an easy 15 miles of range on a full charge and comes with a portable charger that is small enough to carry on you in case you need to charge on the go.

Now, while this top folding electric scooter has no real suspension built into it, its wide 8-inch honeycomb pneumatic tires provide good support over tiny cracks, small holes and some rugged unevenness on the road. However, the scooter does tend to clatter while riding over rough patches, but for the most part remains pretty stable. The electric brake inside the rear motor (250W, 600W peak power) works quite well and brings the scooter to an almost instantaneous halt when you engage it (via the throttle on the left handle bar), although having an additional front break would’ve sealed the deal for us. The Dolly is quick but not as quick as advertised. During our test runs, we were able to clock a maximum speed of 14.2 mph, but we’ve ridden faster scooters. The other issue we faced was regarding the responsiveness of the throttle which requires the rider to grip on tight to maintain their speed. This can be a wee bit annoying on longer commutes but works just fine for shorter 1-2 mile commutes to and from public transport or the office. The Dolly has a bright headlight in front that works and a rear tail light reflector, so you can comfortably ride at night, however, we’d suggest avoiding streets without lighting.

Pros

  • Aircraft grade aluminum frame provides good durability and stability
  • Lightweight at only 28 lbs
  • Patented vertical self-standing design allows for easy storage and convenient handling on public transport
  • One of a kind foot activated folding design that takes a few seconds to fold the scooter
  • One of a kind extendable trolly handle and rear luggage wheels that enable the rider to roll the Dolly scooter like a rolling suitcase
  • Sony Lithium Ion 36v battery that charges quickly in under 3.5 hours
  • Bright headlight and rear tail light reflector make riding at night easy
  • Throttle activated rear electric brake works effectively to bring the scooter to a quick stop
  • Well designed fenders over both wheels help to keep the water out when riding under wet conditions

Cons

  • No suspension
  • The accelerator and throttle are not the most responsive
  • The battery indicator is not entirely accurate in its readings, so make sure you leave the house on a full charge
  • The scooter tends to rattle and performs poorly on exceedingly rough surfaces, stick to flat ground to enjoy a good riding experience
Verdict The Glion Dolly is without a doubt the best folding e-scooter on the market. Its utilitarian design makes it’s exceptionally portable and its powerful motor along with its quick charge battery make it hard to compete with as a top last mile transport solution. However, its lack of suspension and flimsy controls fails to deliver a riding experience that matches its overall look and design.

And, so they decided to develop a scooter that is portable, easy to use and most importantly environment-friendly. However, besides selling their product, they’re also happy to endorse other companies that are creating eco-friendly personal mobile devices to achieve the larger goal of protecting the environment from harmful emissions.

To demonstrate their dedication to preserving the environment, they have promised to ‘plant a tree‘ if you simply register on their website and also all their packaging, including the instructions, uses recycled paper.

Why #1 Best Electric Scooter for Adults ??
The EcoReco M5 is portable, easily foldable and performs in silence. Its silent operation is fueled by a gearless direct drive motor that is capable of 750W output at peak power. This powerful motor propels the M5 to reach speeds up to 20 mph and its Lithium Iron battery ensures a wide range up to 20 miles. This powerful motor propels the M5 to reach speeds up to 20 mph and its Lithium Iron battery ensures a wide range up to 20 miles.

Also, the scooter is light enough (35.2 lbs) to be carried over short distances and comes with a pin-lock folding mechanism that enables quick folding for easy portability on public transport.

Its performance is second to none and it features a neat LCD display that exhibits speed, distance, battery, cycles charged and more. The variable speed throttle attached to the display helps change the speed with ease and the lever activated rear brake responds effectively to stop the scooter in its tracks.

Riding over bumpy or rough roads and even grass is more comfortable than on most scooters owing to the M5’s dual suspension and solid rubber tires. All things considered, the Eco M5 e-scooter is perhaps the most robust electric scooter for adults in 2019.

Top Benefits of EcoReco M5 E-Scooter

1. Build :-
The EcoReco M5 e-scooter is built using the highest grade T6 aluminum alloy for its frame and fork. This quality enables the scooter to support in excess of 250 lbs. But, its extra durable and sturdy frame does come at a cost: that being that the M5 is heavier than most at 35.2 lbs. However, it is still light enough to be carried over short distances without much hassle. The M5 e-scooter has a portable and foldable design. Its pin and lock folding mechanism enables it to be folded and unfolded with ease. Also, its handlebars are also foldable, but unlike the handles on the Glen Dolly, the M5’s handles are much sturdier as well as wide enough to accommodate riders with larger frames. While the M5 can’t stand vertically, it features a nifty kick stand at the rear that holds it up just fine when you park it. Unlike most scooters in the range, the EcoReco M5 comes with dual suspension, in the front and at the back which does provide greater stability during the ride. The tires on the M5 are smaller than most (5-inches), but their solid rubber build delivers good cushioning and also ensures that they never go flat. Overall the build is pretty solid, and the M5 even comes with some pretty cool accessories, which

Overall the build is pretty solid, and the M5 even comes with some pretty cool accessories, which include a carry bag with wheels and a cargo trailer that attaches to the rear wheel so you can tug groceries or other small items home with you if you have to.

2. Performance & Battery Life :-
The M5 performs remarkably well and does so in relative silence. It is powered by a 250-watt motor gearless, direct drive motor that is capable of 750W peak power output, which is more than sufficient for a compact personal mobility device.

It includes a 36v Lithium-ion battery which weighs roughly 7 pounds and takes approximately 4.5 hours to charge. Although the M5 comes ready-to-go with a 50% charge, we recommend charging it fully before you venture off on your first commute to get the benefit of the full 10+ mile range.

One of the cool things we like about the M5 is that it takes a little pushing to power it on. This is a built-in safety feature which ensures that the scooter doesn’t power on with an accidental or unintended push of the power button.

As for the layout on the handle bar, things seem pretty simple and straightforward. The right bar has a variable speed throttle for acceleration and the left bar has a lever which engages a drum/band brake connected to the rear wheel.

The variable throttle is attached to the display computer which shows the speed, trip distance, battery level, and the number of charge cycles exhausted. The only issue we found with the display was its downward angle which makes it hard to read while riding, but with some adjustment you can get it to face up or you can simply stop when you wish to check the battery level.

The actual ride itself is very comfortable and smooth, not to mention, incredibly as we’ve mentioned above. The M5 accelerates well, but during changing speed levels with the variable throttle you will experience some jerks before the scooter picks up on the higher/lower speed. However, once it begins to coast, the ride is remarkably smooth.

During our test rides, we took the M5 over patches of bumps and cracks as well as over grassy patches, but it was able to maintain speed and deliver good stability owing to its dual suspension. Braking is efficient as well, but in our opinion having a brake up front would provide even greater assurance in emergencies. At any rate, as a last mile solution, the M5 is the closest we’ve come to riding a near perfect e-scooter owing to its high-quality performance and versatile features..

Pros

  • Remarkably solid and durable frame construction that used high grade T6 Aluminum Alloy
  • Capable of supporting weight in excess of 250 lbs
  • Delivers a silent operation owing to its gearless direct drive 250W motor
  • Dual suspension – front and back provide superior stability and balance
  • 5-inch solid rubber flat tires support the frame
  • Efficient and quick folding design enhances portability on public transport
  • At 35.2 lbs, the M5 can be carried over short distances without hassle, but avoid lugging over longer distances
  • Features a neat, backlit LCD display which displays speed, battery level, trip distance and more
  • Lithium Iron battery that is capable of delivering range up to 20 miles and takes only 4.5 hrs to charge fully
  • Solid 2 year warranty on the frame and a6 month warranty on the battery, extendable up to 9 months upon registration
  • Built-in safety feature ensures the scooter only powers on when a rider kicks forward while mounted
  • Cool accessories, including a cargo trailer for carrying extra weight

Cons

  • Not the most portable at 35.2 lbs, but still fairly easy to carry
  • No headlight or taillight which puts riding at night out of the question. Riders have to attach their lights if they wish to ride in the dark
  • The LCD face slightly downward making it hard to read; this requires some adjustment
Verdict The EcoReco M5 isn’t just portable or foldable, but offers one of the smoothest rides compared to any top motorized scooter on the market. It has a powerful motor and robust Lithium Iron battery that is capable of delivering a range up to 20 miles on a single charge.

If you’re looking for one of the best electric scooters for adults that emits zero emissions, performs smoothly and silently and is easy to maintain, this M5 is your best bet.

GIGABYKE GROOVE Eco-Friendly E-Bike
Gigabyke is an online store that provides access to the very best names in cycles and motorized bikes at markedly low prices.

Additionally, Gigabyke also offers their own unique product; the Gigabyke Groove, which is perhaps the most powerful and robust electric bike on the market.

The Groove offers the comfort and versatility of larger conventional gas scooters without having to incur the extra expense on gas and go through the hassle of getting a license or registration. And, it’s priced far below the traditional gas scooter. Take a look and learn why this versatile electric moped scooter has taken the world of personal mobility by storm.

Why #1 Best Electric Moped Scooter ??
The Gigabyke Groove is not a motorbike or a scooter, rather its class-2 electric moped scooter. It has a smaller engine compared to the gas scooter, but what it lacks in power, it makes up for in cost, convenience, and design.

It is powered by a 750W gearless motor that propels it to reach speeds up to 20 mph, and it comprises a 40 lb lead acid battery that is capable of delivering between 25-35 miles of range. The Groove has an ergonomic design and a durable frame that can support in excess of 250 lbs.

It’s variable throttle is responsive and increases the speed gradually delivering good performance. The frame is supported by large tires and suspension at both ends which make for a comfortable riding experience. Considering all things as well as the fact that there is no extra cost for gas or registration, the Groove provides a fun and practical mode of transport for short commutes.

Top Benefits of GIGABYKE GROOVE Eco-Friendly E-Bike

1. Build & Safety:-
The Gigabyke Groove doesn’t fall under the category of motorcycle, nor does it match up to a scooter, the best definition we could think up is that it’s a beefed up bicycle with a motor. However, technical terminology suggests that the Groove meets the requirements of a class-2 electric bike. As such, it does not require a license or registration to ride, although it does have a number plate meaning you could go down the local DMV and get

However, the laws regarding registration would vary depending on which state you’re in. The overall build of the bike is pretty sturdy, and it can comfortably support weight more than 250 lbs, although heavier weights may reduce the max speed of the bike. Also, there are two kick stands a central stand and a side stand. As for safety, the bike is locked by turning the key an extra notch which locks the front end onto the left side. Bike lock turn the key an extra notch and the front end locks.

2. Performance & Battery Life:-
Courtesy of its 750W gearless motor, the Groove can reach speeds up to 20 mph, which is pretty decent for a bike its size.

Even though the Groove may look the part, owing to its relatively low max speed, we’d recommend restricting driving to the bike lane, so you don’t interrupt traffic. Speed and acceleration are controlled via the variable speed throttle on the right handle bar.

While the throttle responds well, acceleration builds up gradually even when you twist to full throttle as a result of the low torque motor. Although we didn’t ride up any slopes, the gradual increase in acceleration could very well hinder the bikes uphill performance.

On flat roads, the Groove performs pretty well and does so quite silently. The bike responds well to both brakes; the front disc brake and the rear band/ drum brake. The on board charger weighs a whopping 40 lbs and consists of four, 12v 14Ah batteries. It takes roughly 4-6 hours to charge and delivers a range of 25-35 miles.

However, after racking up several miles on the bike, we’d suggest taking the short end of that estimate as a good measure of the number of miles you can expect to cover on a full charge.

In case, the battery does die while you’re riding, you have the option of pedaling, but from our experience you’re better off ensuring that you have enough battery for your ride. Taking everything into account, the

Taking everything into account, the Gigabyke Groove provides a fun and convenient mode of transportation for short commutes as well as drastically reduces overhead costs one would otherwise incur on gas, license and registration.

Pros

  • Remarkable value at a conveniently low price
  • Ergonomic handlebar and controls with a nice Display and neat rear view mirrors
  • Powerful 30 LED front headlight and indicators

  • An extra battery pack is available on the website for only 400$

Cons

  • The heavyweight of the Groove (approx 146 lbs) makes its hard to pedal
  • The suspension is a little bouncy but works well for the most part
Verdict Unlike the folding electric scooter we’ve covered so far, the Gigabyke Groove offers all the functionality of a traditional gas scooter/moped but with a smaller engine and without the requirements of gas, license or registration.

If you’re looking for an everyday transport solution for short commutes, including doing the groceries, going to lectures on campus, or cruising a few short miles to work and back, the Groove is the ultimate electric moped scooter for your needs.

The Fuzion V1000 is a great example of their best two wheeled mobility devices. It is quick to fold, durable and performs exceptionally well on various types of terrain. Take a closer at this top electric scooter for adults.

Top Benefits of Fuzion V-1000 Electric Scooter

1. Build:-
Perhaps the greatest selling point of the Fuzion V1000 is its rock solid frame and construction. Built using Aircraft Grade Aluminum, this hefty e-scooter weighs 36 lbs and is capable of taking few a hits on the road.

It can support up to 220lbs comfortably, and unlike other scooters with delicate frames, the V1000 is extremely durable and has one of the best suspensions in the world of electric scooters.

Together with front and back coil spring suspension and two rubber 200mm tires, the V1000 can turn a bumpy road into a smooth ride. Apart from a solid build, the V1000 also offers a comfortable riding experience. It has scalloped rubber handgrips and a wide deck that provides enough space for a rider to keep his/her feet side by side instead of one behind the other.

Just as comfortable as it is to ride, the scooter is equally easy to fold and store under the seat of your chosen mode or public transport. Even the handlebars fold in neatly making this adult electric scooters compact enough to store anywhere on the bus or train.

To alert the rider regarding remaining battery life, the V1000 has a basic battery read out meter up top on the handlebars. And, the deck is low enough to the ground for the rider to kick their way home in case the battery runs out of juice.

From our experience, it is better to use the V1000 as a kick scooter when the battery dies than to lug its heavy frame over long distances.

2. Performance & Battery Life:-
The V1000 houses a powerful 500W brushless motor that propels the scooter to reach a max speed of 18mph.

Also, this Fuzion scooter includes a 36v 8Ah battery that delivers a broad range up to 15 miles and takes as little as 4-6 hours to charge fully. This Fuzion V1000 electric scooter for adults performs better than most e-scooters on bumpy terrain.

Its dual-coil spring suspension system is second to none, so if there’s a bad patch of road on the way to work that you’re worried about, this scooter will put your worries to rest. Also, the V1000 accelerates just as smoothly as it brakes. The lever over the left handle bar engages the rear disc brake which brings the scooter to halt without it skidding out of control. However, an additional brake in the front would make braking in emergency situations a lot more secure and effective.

Pros

  • Solid frame and durable construction
  • Front and rear coil spring suspension delivers a smooth ride over bumpy roads and surfaces
  • Effective rear disc brake stop the V1000 sharply in its tracks
  • Ergonomic and comfortable handlebars along with a wide deck provides an enjoyable riding experience
  • Above average top speed of 18mph
  • Quick folding mechanism

Cons

  • Heavy weight makes it hard to carry and lift into overhead compartments on crowded buses and trains
  • Battery takes longer than average to charge
  • The single rear disc brake although effective isn’t the best solutions in emergencies or in wet conditions
  • The kickstand does the job but feels as though it could definitely break if you stand on the scooter with it on
Verdict If the extra weight does not threaten you, and you’re okay with charging the scooter every other night, the V1000 is a worthwhile purchase. As one of the top adult electric scooters it is built like an armored tank, but despite that can reach good speeds up to 18 mph and performs superbly well on bumpy and rough roads that have lots of cracks and ditches.

Top Benefits of Black Super Turbo 1000watt Elite 36v Electric Scooter

1. Build:-
The Super Turbo 1000W Elite scooter is the motor cross race horse among electric scooters. It has large 4/11 inch all terrain racing tires that give it a mean look and eye-catching suspension coils in the front and back.

The front suspension features an attractive chrome mono spring suspension, and the rear motor and wheel are fastened to the body using dual shock springs and chrome bolts that add to the overall sharp look of the scooter. Also, it has disc brakes in the front as well as in the back which is a first among all the electric scooters we’ve reviewed and tested.

This Super Turbo 1000W Elite scooter comes fully assembled for the most part except for the seat which has to be connected by the rider. The seat fits snugly into a port towards the back end of the deck and is secured using a bolt.

The battery which is consists of 3, 12v deep cell batteries and weighs approximately 30 lbs is housed inside the deck of the scooter. To access it, one has to remove the seat and open up the deck which can take some doing. The overall weight of the scooter including the battery is nearly 85 pounds.

And, although this 1000W Elite scooter can fold down, it’s just too heavy to be carried onto public transportation. However, the good thing is that it is durable and stable enough to support even the super heavy weight individual with a weight bearing capacity up to 300 lbs.

2. Performance & Battery Life:-
This Super Turbo has a 1000W motor that boasts speeds up to 30 mph. But, while it displays good acceleration, we rarely exceeded speeds of 20mph during our testing.

However, we’re positive that with some modifications this scooter can achieve much faster speeds and a better range than what is currently advertised. As it stands, the battery takes close 8 hours to be fully charged and delivers roughly 15 miles of range, which isn’t too bad for short commutes or some cruising around the neighborhood. The quality of ride itself far exceeded our expectations. The wide tires and dual coil spring suspension at both ends

The quality of ride itself far exceeded our expectations. The wide tires and dual coil spring suspension at both ends provide great stability and absorbs shock effectively even over ditches and cracks. Also, you can comfortably take this Super Turbo scooter over the grass of rough terrain, and it doesn’t lose any speed.

The braking is also high quality and is designed to cut off electricity to the motor when engaged bringing the scooter to a timely halt. Also, the fact that there are disc brakes at both ends offers extra security to the rider and provides greater confidence during riding.

Pros

  • Durable Build
  • Front and rear coiled spring suspension
  • Disc brakes in the front and the back
  • A seat for added comfort while riding
  • Wide 4 by 11 inch all terrain racing tires provide a strong grip and cushioning on rough terrain
  • Powerful headlight up front makes riding at night easy and enjoyable
  • Powerful 1000W propels the scooter to reach speeds up to 20 mph
  • Tri-band Battery indicator displays remaining battery life clearly and accurately

Cons

  • Not portable, too heavy at 85 lbs
  • The Battery takes long to charge (6-8 hours for a full charge)
  • The visible welding marks on the frame and flimsy construction of the deck take away from the over appeal of the scooter
Verdict The Super Turbo 1000W Elite may not be the most portable motorized scooter, but it certainly offers some solid features along with a powerful motor. It provides solid suspension and has wide all terrain tires that enhance ride quality and deliver a smooth, enjoyable ride.

Also, while it isn’t the fastest scooter on the market or the quickest to charge, it offers great value at an extremely affordable price compared to other scooters that advertise similar features.

Razor E200 Electric Scooter
If you didn’t already know, Razor is to scooters what DJI is to Drones. In simpler terms, they are the apple of scooters. Although they first gained popularity for their Model A kick scooter they quickly become known and loved for their electric scooters as well.

They have been innovating and producing cutting-edge technology for years that continues to draw the admiration of thousands of sports fans across the country and across the world.

The Razor E200 electric scooter is special because it has most of the capabilities of the larger E300 and provides a bigger deck and more leg room than the smaller E100. It is one of the most ideal electric scooters for Kids because it is large enough for young kids to grown into and comes at an extremely affordable price.

Why #1 Best Electric Scooter for Kids 2019 ??
The E200 caters perfectly to the older kid and young teen category. It has a solid build that can carry up to 154 lbs and a wide deck for taller or larger to ride comfortably.

Also, it has a variable speed throttle and good acceleration, so you’re kid can enjoying cruising as well as racing at the max speed of 12mph. The 8-inch pneumatic tires provide good support, and its chain-driven motor operates silently allowing your kid to enjoy his favorite tunes as he/she coasts around the neighborhood.

The best part of the E200 is that it’s affordable and large enough to accommodate your kid as he grows, so you don’t have to hurry to the store to purchase the next version anytime soon.

Top Benefits of Razor E200 Electric Scooter

1. Build & Safety:-
The E200 has an all steel frame and fork. Similar to the E300, it is powered by a 100-watt chain-drive motor. It can reach a top speed of 12 mph which is plenty fast for a kid or young teenager and is only 3 mph shy of the top speed on the E300.

It has a wide deck that provides enough room for your kid to keep both feet together and also has a box cover over the rear wheel which older kids can use to rest their back foot during riding. There is no suspension, but the 8-inch pneumatic tires provide decent cushioning.

The E200 has a single electric brake on the rear wheel which is activated via the left hand lever on the handlebar. This provides a good level of safety and is pretty effective at stopping the scooter. The slight drawback on the E200 is its heavier weight close to 40 lbs, which can be difficult to pull when the battery dies.

Although the E200 can be used as a kick scooter, the heavier weight and built-in drag from the drive train make kicking this scooter home an exhausting option for a little kid.

If you’ve used Razor scooters in the past, some of you may remember that the earlier version of the E200 had a folding option for the deck and handlebars. Unfortunately, this newer version does not have the same option. However, the more current setup does make assembly easy and quick.

2. Performance & Battery Life:-
The best aspects of the E200 are its quiet operation, courtesy of its efficient chain-drive motor and its variable speed throttle that allows riders to gradually build up to the max speed. Unlike, the E100 which has a single speed setting, the E200 provides the opportunity to ride at slower as well as intermediate speeds.

This setup delivers a much more enjoyable riding and cruising experience for kids and young teens. The battery on the E200 is a 24V lead acid battery which takes the expected 12 hours for a full charge and delivers close to 40 minutes of run time.

We recommend charging the battery fully before your first ride and subsequently charging for 6 hours or less to experience the best that the E200 has to offer. While your kid may be tempted to take this scooter off road, it’s not the best idea.

However, the E200 does have a sturdy enough build to navigate some grassy patches and bumps. Also, don’t use this scooter in the rain since it can get damaged pretty quickly. Besides this, it has all the makings of a top electric scooter for kids.

Pros

  • Wide deck and comfortable handlebars provide an enjoyable riding experience
  • Can support a max weight of 155 lbs
  • The variable speed throttle allows your kid to get used to the scooter better before taking full advantage of the max speed
  • Delivers a top speed of 12mph
  • Wide 8-inch pneumatic tires provide good gripping and cushioning over bumps
  • Chain-driven motor performs with relative silence
  • Hand operated brake is effective at stopping the scooter in its tracks

Cons

  • On the heavier side weighing in at roughly 40 lbs
  • No suspension
  • Doesn’t fold and has to be stored standing up
  • The lead acid battery takes super long to charge
Verdict The Razor E200 isn’t the lightest scooter, but you can count on its durable to support your growing child. It delivers a good top speed and features a variable speed throttle which allows your kids to get familiar with the scooter before hitting top speeds.

Also, it provides good tires and a decent battery life so your kid can have a blast before its time to charge again. All things considered and given the E200’s conveniently low price tag, this scooter is one of the best electric scooters you could buy for your kid.

Best Electric Scooters – Buying Guide 2019

If you thought to ride a scooter was fun and easy before, you’re going to love riding the new electric/motorized scooters that we’ve reviewed above.

Owing to advancements in computer and motor technology as well as the ingenuity of automotive design artists, these new motorized scooters provide a fun and practical way of navigating the crowded terrain of our modern cities.

Whereas the new self-balancing scooters offer a new and fun form of entertainment, the electric scooter offers a fun and viable mode of transportation that is widely accepted as a legitimate way of commuting and is permissible for use on sidewalks, bike lanes, as well as roads.

If this new, slick and portable mode of transportation appeals to you, here are a few electric scooter parts  to keep in mind while you hone in on the best electric scooter for your needs.

1. Frame Construction & Durability

Most e-scooters on the market have a compact design, however, their build, assembly, and ease of portability can vary. While some scooters are built like tanks and weigh upward of 30 lbs, others are lighter and can weigh as little as 16-17 lbs.

Depending on the make, build, and scooter type (for kids/adults), electric scooters can carry between 150-300 pounds. However, leaving aside the exceptionally buff scooters most adult scooters can manage to support just about in excess of 200 pounds.

The best motorized scooters are built using high quality tubular steel and thick steel plates for the frame, but may use plastic to cover some sharp edges. Avoid scooters that use plastic for the majority of their construction, since they are easily damaged.

If you want a scooter that is capable of handling a heavy load and offers a solid riding experience, you shouldn’t mind the extra weight, however, if portability is your top concern, then you may have to forgo being able to carry heavy loads on the scooter. Either way, if you’re looking to rack up the miles on your scooter, it’s worth your while investing in a top-of-the-line e-scooter brand that offers good durability as well as repair and replacement of parts.

2. Design

While the design on most motorized scooters  doesn’t vary much, there are certain key electric scooter parts which can make your riding experience a lot more convenient and enjoyable.

  • Foldable – For starters, if you’re planning on taking your scooter on to a bus or train, you should look for a scooter that folds down easily and quickly and doesn’t take several tedious steps.
  • Handlebars – Secondly, look for a scooter with short, foldable handle bars so it’s easier to weave your way through traffic and avoid bumping into people or the side view mirrors of cars on a congested road.
  • Gear Levers – These come in two varieties: the thumb lever and the regular bike lever. Depending on your experience and comfort level you can choose either one. However, we did find the thumb lever to be more comfortable to use, given the smaller girth of the handlebars on most motorized scooters.
  • The Deck – The length of the deck on e-scooters can vary depending on the type of the scooter (i.e. for kids or adults). Scooters for kids usually have smaller decks while electric scooters for adults have slightly larger and heftier decks. Besides deck length, the height of the deck can also prove to be an important consideration, especially if your scooter runs out of juice. A deck that is closer to the ground makes it easier to kick and use your feet when the batteries die.
  • Lights – Look for built-in headlight and tail lights if you plan on riding your scooter back from work in the evening or late at night. In case your scooter doesn’t come with headlights/taillights, take your scooter to the local mechanic, because adding lights, especially on foldable handle bars could pose a problem.

3. The Motor

The motor is what drives the motorized scooter. Depending on their quality, and intended use, electric scooters sport motors of varying power. Most kid’s scooters will have motors of up to 350 watts which offer decent acceleration, and lower average speeds.

More powerful 500 watt motors deliver greater acceleration, speed as well as the ability to climb gentle slopes in the road. If you want an e-scooter that is capable of superior speeds and can comfortably climb steep slopes, make sure it is powered by a 750 watt motor or better still a 1000 watt power for maximum output.

4. Battery Pack

The batteries on most motorized scooters are lead-acid batteries, which are the oldest type of rechargeable battery. Although heavier and bulkier than the Lithium-ion batteries used to power most hoverboards, the lead acid battery costs much less in comparison, which is why motorized scooters cost less than other electric mobility devices.

However, the lower cost of the lead acid battery is no consolation, as it is inferior to the Lithium battery on charging times and in almost every other way. The lead acid battery on most scooters can take anywhere between 10-12 hours to charge and delivers a meager 40-50 minutes of juice which translates to an average of 8-10 miles on flat roads.

This amount of run time is considerably subpar for a technologically sound and effective means of transport and does require improvement. Having said that, there are a couple of companies that offer lithium battery packs for their scooters, so if you want to enjoy longer travel times, it is wise to invest some more Benjamins for an enjoyable ride.

5. Breaks

When you travelling at speeds close to 40 mph, it’s a good idea to get a scooter that has a break in the back as well as in the front, so you can use both in case of emergencies. And, a motor upfront can also be useful since they have built-in electric brakes that are effective at gradually slowing down the scooter.

In some cases, having this type of front brake can prove to be more effective than a disc brake on the rear wheel, since jamming the back brake can cause the scooter to slide out of control.

6. Wheels and Suspension

At their most rudimentary design, scooters share the same suspension as most skateboards and longboards, i.e. none. Scooters with no suspension usually have small rubber wheels, weigh much less than their counterparts and are okay to ride on flat surfaces.

However, if you want to ride in the real world as well as have the option to maneuver across all kinds of terrain without hassle, you’re going to need suspension. The best suspension for electric scooters comes in the form of shock and coil springs.

Look for suspension in the front as well as at the back for an incredibly smooth and comfortable ride. As for tires your best off getting a scooter with pneumatic tires, which are made from rubber and filled with compressed air. These provide good shock absorption and traction for a fun and controlled ride.

7. Speed

Most scooters deliver relatively high speeds that are good enough to take the bike lane or ride on the footpath. If you’re looking for exceptional speeds such as more than 30-40mph, you should consider a scooter with a powerful motor upwards of 750 watts. Remember, that higher speeds and extra watts place a greater demand on the battery, so make sure that chart your route before you leave to avoid running out of juice.

8. Computer & Accessories

While the lower level scooters offer simple battery displays up top, the higher end models offer a computer which can display several important stats apart from battery life, such as mileage and speed.

In addition, some advanced computers also offer an option for cruise control. Besides the computer, you’re going to want some basic accessories, including a side stand for parking and maybe even trolly handle like the one rolling suitcases to roll your scooter around when you get tired of carrying it. Also, consider purchasing a carry bag in case you want to keep your ride under wraps and away from prying eyes.

9. Price

It really boils down to this: Are you looking for a scooter to play around with and ride around on the weekends, or are you looking to for an motorized  scooter to use as a frequent mode of transportation to and from work?

If you want a scooter for the former reason, it’s easy to get a basic motorized scooter without any real suspension or without any quality electric scooter parts for less than 300$. However, if you plan on using a scooter for short, everyday commutes, you’re going to have to dig a little deeper into your pocket and consider spending anywhere between 800-1000$ or more.
